The Rocky View School District (RVS) has announced updates to the previously announced Balancing Student Spaces Engagement.

Starting January 23, RVS will host a series of open houses and launch an online survey to gather feedback.

Students, family, staff and interested members of the community are encouraged to attend and share their thoughts at the open houses. Each open house will contain the same information.

- January 23, 6:30 – 8 p.m.: George McDougall High School

- January 30, 6:30 – 8 p.m.: C.W. Perry School

- January 31, 6:30 – 8 p.m.: W.H. Croxford High School

- February 6, 6:30 – 8 p.m.: Bert Church High School

Possible solutions to student enrollment include converting C.W. Perry into a high school and reorganizing the grade structure (Kindergarten – Grade 6, Grades 7 – 9 and Grades 10 – 12) across the city.

The school board is open to alternative ideas to the presented concepts.

"The Board wants to hear the community's thoughts on these potential solutions and new ideas for trustees to consider; we are committed to thoroughly and thoughtfully reviewing all information and feedback to make the best decision possible for all Airdrie students," said Board Chair Fiona Gilbert.

Following community feedback, the board will make the final decisions at the April 25 public meeting.

"We look forward to hearing from more of the Airdrie community over the next couple of months to provide the Board with as much information as possible to help inform this important decision," said Superintendent Greg Luterbach

Changes to the school system will take effect in 2025/2026, with potential implementation as early as next year.
