A 72-year-old Rocky View County woman who was charged with attempted murder last week will have a month-long psychiatric evaluation to determine whether she is fit to stand trial.

Rhonda Campbell was arrested and charged after Cochrane Mounties attended a local residence last week after calls about a disturbance.

Campbell subsequently surrendered to police without incident, but the victim, reportedly Campbell's husband, was seriously injured and taken to a Calgary hospital.

The case will be back in Calgary court in early March.
