Team Plett will be representing Canada at the 2024 World Junior Curling Championships which is taking place in Lohja Finland from February 17 - 24.

This is the second time they have represented Canada this curling season. They recently placed second at the World Junior-B Curling Championships which helped them qualify for the 2024 World Junior Curling Championships.

Team Plett has two members from the Airdrie area - Myla Plett from Carstairs and Head Coach Blair Lenton from Airdrie. Third, Alyssa Nedohin is from Sherwood Park, throwing second stones is Chloe Fediuk from Edmonton and Allie Iskiw, the lead of the team, is from Ellerslie. They recently added a fifth player to the team to be a spare, Kaylee Raniseth.

"We are really excited to meet all the other teams. Last time (at Worlds B), we made really good friends with Team Australia and Team Spain," stated Plett.

When asked which team they are excited to play against, Plett stated they want a rematch with the only team they lost to in the World Junior-B Curling Championships.

"I think a rematch against China would be great, it was it was a rough game by us but can't wait to play them again."

Plett finished off by saying being able to come home winning this championship would be unbelievable and a dream come true.

The girls will be taking on the entire women’s field which includes China, Germany, Japan, Korea, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland and Türkiye.

So far this year, the team has had a successful year training and attending multiple events including the 2023 PointsBet Invitational where they faced off against the six-time Canadian Champion (Scotties Tournament of Hearts) and two-time World Champion Jennifer Jones only losing 10-6.
