Olds RCMP seized firearms, drugs and a large amount of copper wire in a search that resulted in charges against four people.

On February 13th, RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Olds where they seized firearms including a loaded .22 calibre rifle, a large amount of copper wire, a wire stripping machine, brass knuckles and ammunition, as well as over 20 grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine, along with other substances believed to be Psilocybin mushrooms, Heroin and Oxycodone.

Charles Benson Schmidt, 45, of Olds, has been charged with: 

  • Possession of stolen property obtained by crime less than or equal to $5000.
  • Possession of stolen property obtained by crime over $5000.
  • Possession of a controlled substance. (x4)
  • Careless use of firearm. (x2)
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm / prohibited weapon or restricted weapon. (x3)
  • Possession of a firearm / prohibited weapon when knowing possession is unauthorized. (x3)
  • Fail to comply with release order condition. (x3)

Cory Ryan Davies, 43, of Olds, was charged with the following: 

  • Possession of stolen property obtained by crime less than or equal to $5000.
  • Possession of stolen property obtained by crime over $5000.
  • Fail to comply with a release order.

Sheri-Lynn Kathleen Koch (39 yrs) of Olds, Alta., was charged with the following:

  • Possession of stolen property obtained by crime less than or equal to $5000.
  • Possession of stolen property obtained by crime over $5000. 

Wilson Gray Woodland (52 yrs) of Calgary, Alta., was charged with the following:

  • Possession of stolen property obtained by crime less than or equal to $5000.
  • Possession of stolen property obtained by crime over $5000. 

Schmidt was released on $2,000 no cash deposit to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court February 24, 2020. Davies was released on $1,500 no cash deposit to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court February 24, 2020. Koch and Woodland were both released on an undertaking to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court March 23, 2020.
