The Airdrie Raiders are itching to get back to the field and back to their winning ways in the Calgary Spring Football Association.

Tonight (May 3) they'll get a chance to scratch both those itches when they face the Calgary Hilltoppers at 6:30 pm on Encana Field at Shouldice Athletic Park.

After their first loss of the year to the Mavericks in their last game, the bye week likely couldn't have come at a more inopportune time but Head Coach Steve Kemp says the team will be ready.

"The boys worked really hard (against the Mavericks).  Just a couple bounces the other way and that game could have gone the other way for us.  We played really hard, competed all the way across the board.  That's two evenly match teams there.  We went back to the drawing board (last) week."

Kemp says they set out the change the culture of the football club this season, and he thinks they're on the right track, saying, "We're starting to see our goal.  Three things we really focus on is 'work, compete, and win.'  That's starting to bear fruit.  Going forward we need to work harder, compete and win and I think in every game we're going to be competing."

The Hilltoppers have a record of 3 and 1 in the CFSA's Boulton Division, the same division the Raiders are in.  Airdrie has played one less game and sit at 2 and 1 on the year.
