The Alberta 4-H program is honored to be able to present the prestigious Premier's Award to Jacob Onyschuk from Legal.

The 20 year old student goes to the University of Alberta and was chosen for the award during the 55th annual 4-H Selections program at Olds College.

Jocelyn McKinnon, 4-H Specialist says Onyschuk received this award, "Because of his leadership and communications skills demonstrated, his commitment to the program, his ability to work with other people and he's just an outstanding young man."

Onyschuk has contributed at the district and regional levels by running workshops and chairing the Northwest Regional Beef Committee.

Onyschuk also used his public speaking skills to advance to Provincial Communications in 2012 and he is also involved in the University of Alberta’s Multi Species Judging Club and the Collegiate 4-H Club.

The rural youth program has been running over 90 years with more than 6,000 members and approximately 2,000 volunteer leaders participating in close to 400 clubs in Alberta.
