Despite a disappointing Day 4 at the Calgary Stampede, two local cowboys will advance to Championship Sunday after the completion of Pool A qualifiers yesterday (July 10).

Airdrie's Jake Vold went into Day 4 of the bareback competition sitting in second place behind Texan Richie Champion. His fourth performance proved to be a tough one, scoring only a 76.5 on the back of Zig Zag Cherry. Although the ride meant Vold fell to fourth place, it was good enough to secure him a spot on Sunday. With Pool A qualifiers complete, Vold finished behind Champion, Utah's Caleb Bennett, and Ky Marshall from Bowden.

Cochrane's Tanner Milan was also wishing for a better performance on Day 4 of steer wrestling. After holding first place all week, Milan wasn't able to catch his steer yesterday, resulting in a No Time. On the strength of only three performances, Milan still sails through to Sunday in second place, trailing Jason Thomas of Arkansas.
