Hundreds of soccer players from all over Alberta were in Airdrie from Friday, June 10, to Sunday, June 12, for the AFC Summit Cup Soccer Tournament.

Proving to be one of the biggest soccer tournaments, the AFC Summit Cup had players challenged for the entire weekend as the games began as early as 8:00a.m. and finishing as late as 9:00p.m.

At least 12 teams from Airdrie were representing their home town from the Airdrie Aztecs to the Airdrie FC 05.

The games took place all over the city; Monklands Soccer Fields, Bert Chuch High School, Genesis Place Track Field, West Lake Fields One and Two, Our Lady Queen of Peace School's East and West Fields, and RJ Hawkey's fields.
