Airdrie’s Jake Vold was en route to a first-place finish in his childhood home last weekend at the Ponoka Stampede.

Vold won the first round of the Bareback competition with a score of 88.75 and was in prime position heading into the final round.

Vold didn’t disappoint as he rode to a score of 90 in that ride.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as Orin Larsen from Inglis, MB scored a 90.5 to take the Bareback final.

Vold did win the aggregate for the competition with a combined score of 178.75 in the two rounds.
