The number of active cases of COVID-19 grew ever so slightly today (June 6) in the province.  

40 new cases of the virus were reported by provincial officials, bringing the total to 336. Yesterday there were just seven new cases with 328 total.

6,656 Albertans have recovered now from COVID-19 and no new deaths were reported leaving the total at 146.

Hospitalizations from the coronavirus didn't increase.  There are still 44 people in hospital with six of them in provincial ICUs.

In Airdrie the numbers are unchanged from yesterday, three active cases, 45 recovered and one death.  Rocky View County had another recovery today which means there is just one active case while 43 people have recovered.  

Provincial labs tested another 5,692 people in the past 24 hours making 259,031 Albertans that have now been tested. 

Across Canada, 94,375 cases of the virus have been confirmed and 7,703 Canadians have lost their lives to the illness.

There will be no new numbers reported tomorrow as the stat keepers have been given the day off by Alberta Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw.
