Due to grizzly bears frequenting an area in Banff National Park searching for food, the Park has enacted a no-stopping zone. The no-stopping area is located in the Bow Valley Parkway, between Baker Creek & Protection Mountain Campground.
⚠️A no stopping zone along the Bow Valley Parkway is now in place to protect 2 bears. The 320m no stopping zone is between Baker Creek & Protection Mountain Campground. Stopping to view wildlife is never recommended for the safety of people & wildlife.

Parks Canada underlined that stopping not only creates traffic hazards such as gridlock but also increases the danger to wildlife through habituation to people and vehicles.
"Traffic congestion reduces the escape route for a bear evading passing trains," Parks Canada added.
