Riding high off winning the Rocky View title over the weekend, the George McDougall senior boys basketball team are looking forward to the South Central Zones this week.

"The team is very confident right now. They're very pleased with how they've been the last little while," said Team Manager Gregg Moss. "You know, we still feel that there's some room for improvement moving forward, we know we've got some tough games ahead of us. The confidence level is there, but we think we can get better even still."

The team got a little bit of a break with light practices, but Moss said they will try to refocus and work hard to get prepared.

"Tomorrow [March 8] we have a pretty serious practice going on, to get them focused again [and] remind them that the hoop is still ten feet tall and it's the same for everybody and the court's still the same length and everything else, so because they've won something it doesn't mean anything anymore."

Meanwhile, bringing home the divisional title has George McDougall excited.

"The school has been amazing, they've been behind us one hundred percent and with each step closer to getting a title, you can feel the energy in the air a little bit more."

With the number one seed in the Zone tournament, the Mustangs get a first round bye and will see their first action of the tournament on Thursday (March 9).
