A hiker who went missing over the weekend in Banff has been found dead. 

Banff RCMP were notified about an overdue hiker at about 3:50 p.m. on Sunday. 

Officers found the hiker's vehicle at the Banff airstrip and called in help from Parks Canada.

A body was found on Cascade Mountain at around 11 a.m. Monday while aerial crews performed a search of the area. 

The 64-year-old Calgary resident was found deceased. 

The cause of death is not considered suspicious. 

The man's name is not being released.
