Not long after they succeeded at the Masters Provincials, several swimmers with the Nose Creek Swim Association did the same at Nationals last weekend.

“I ended up with two bronze and a silver. I had medals in my three favourite races which is the 50, 100 and 200-metre breaststroke.”

Another medalist from the weekend was Susan Benoit who claimed a bronze and gold medal, but to her being a part of the team was an even greater reward.

“It is a huge family and it’s just been super supportive. Driving in together and cheering them on. A lot of us have families so to be able to have jobs, families and put this on top of it is huge for us.”

Other medalists from the meet included Joshua Eckstein and Melia St.Louis who won 6 medals. The team brought home 13 medals in total.

While team member Tina Prescott didn’t hit the podium, she did push herself to achieve personal best times.

For Prescott, sharing those moments with her team was truly special.

“For me, a highlight was being able to experience with everybody when we all achieved our individual goals. Mine was to better my time in my 100 back and 200 back and everybody had their own goals and we all achieved them. You get to see their faces and their emotion when they realize it. Having them experience it with me meant a lot.”

The Master’s Swimmers will discuss where they go next as the 2019 Nationals will be held in Montreal and the World Championships held next year in South Korea.
