Cochrane Provincial Court has sentenced 20 year old Conroy Poucette of Morley after two fires on the Stoney First Nation in July.

RCMP were investigating two fires, one of which was a serious blaze at the Morley Recreation Complex while the other was a grass fire just a short distance away.

After investigation, Cochrane RCMP along with RCMP Police Dog Service were able to locate two suspects who had unlawfully entered a residence not far from where both fires occurred.

Cochrane Provincial Court sentenced Poucette on Tuesday where he plead guilty to charges of break and enter to commit the indictable offence of arson, and to being unlawfully in a dwelling house.

Poucette received a suspended sentence with 18 months probation along with a fine of $200.

The other suspect, Tylen Tray Poucette, 19, of Morley is still before Cochrane Provincial Court.
