On August 31 about 7 in the evening, Airdrie Rural RCMP responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint on Range Road 270, 5 kilometers east of Airdrie. 

A 2011 Mazda 3 drove into a residential driveway and the driver fled on foot, leaving a mother and her two children behind. 

When police arrived, they found the vehicle and licence plate had been stolen. The RCMP’s canine unit was dispatched to find the suspect who was hiding in a grove of trees on the property.  He was taken into custody.

The man is 22 year-old Nabil Abdulgary.  He now faces two stolen property charges and 8 counts of failing to comply with recognizance conditions. He is known to police.
