The Calgary Stampede Rodeo has provided some stellar competition this year for some local participants.

While there are some competitors from Rocky View County and other parts of Alberta, the majority of the competition traveled up North from the United States.

Airdrie's Jake Vold was participating in the Bareback riding, while Cochrane's Tanner Milan competed in Steer Wrestling.

Devon Mezei, of Carstairs, went head to head with Tanner Girletz, of Bowden, in the Bull Riding competition.

The rodeo continues for all 10 days of the Calgary Stampede and while it is not a qualifying rodeo, it does give the professionals a chance to compete against some tough Southern competition in front of a huge crowd.
