A pair of local cowboys are hoping that this year's Calgary Stampede Rodeo will be lucrative for them today (July 16).

Airdrie's Jake Vold and Tanner Milan of Cochrane have both qualified for final Sunday and will be trying to cash in on the top prize of $100,000 in each event.

Vold finished in fourth spot in the Pool "A" bareback riding, winning $9,000 in four performances.

Milan won the first three go rounds in Pool "A" before taking a no time on his steer on day four and had to settle for second in the pool for steer wrestlers. So far during Stampede 2017 Milan has pocketed $16,500.

The rodeo gets underway at 1:15 pm.
