A local business is offering its services to help those trying to find jobs. Stephen Cleaners, a local business located at 701-401 Coopers Blvd SW is providing outfit cleaning for free to help those who are unemployed interview for jobs.

Amber Steven, the owner of the business explains they are providing this service at all of their locations in Calgary as well, not just the one in Airdrie.

"We started that program back in 2020 during COVID. We were trying to think of a way to help people out, the unemployment rate was high and we just thought it could be our little way of giving back."

Steven explained they have always had a passion for helping their clients look the best, and helping them in their time of need is a good way to do it.

While unsure of how many residents have taken the opportunity for the free outfit cleaning, Steven does hope residents won't be shy to ask for it.

"We feel good knowing that we're giving people confidence when they go into an interview."

If you are going for an interview, Stephen made it clear that they are willing to clean any type of attire that you might be wearing to the interview, this does include clothes like jeans and a t-shirt.

The Airdrie location also helps the Airdrie-centric organization Adopt-A-Grad Foundation of Canada providing their cleaning services for their donated suits and dresses as well. Stephen Cleaners is also a drop-off donation location for the foundation.

Adopt-A-Grad allows residents to donate suits and dresses for graduating students who might be unable to afford a new suit or dress.

"It definitely warms our heart to know we're making such a big difference in people that really need it."

According to Stephen they always receive plenty of donations for the foundation. Once a student decides what they want to wear out of the donated clothes, they will also wash it for them.

Stephen finished off by saying if anybody does have good news stories about them getting a job after having their clothes cleaned by them, she would love to hear them!
