Airdronian Brandon Lorenzo will be performing at Big Valley Jamboree (BVJ) alongside major acts like Morgan Wallen, Dallas Smith and Dierks Bently. He will be playing on the songwriter's stage Sunday, August 6.

"It's my first time actually playing at (BVJ).  I've gone as a spectator in the past but never played. I'm really looking forward to it."

Last summer, he had the opportunity and played at Alberta Country Thunder. Lorenzo mentioned he loves playing at these big events as many people come from all over and have a great time.

One event Lorenzo played at was the Kalix Legacy Foundation Charity Classic, he mentioned playing at this event meant a lot to him as it is Airdrie-based.

"It was a great way to remember and recognize such a great young man who contributed a lot to the hockey community, and wanted to do a lot for other kids in the community as well."

For the rest of summer, Lorenzo has lots of shows lined up, some even in Saskatchewan. This weekend though, he will be opening up for Brett Kissel at the Cowboy Town Concert.

"We've been gearing up for Brett Kissel's opening act that's coming up this weekend (June 24) in Strathmore, it is going to be a blast, I can't wait."

Lorenzo mentioned he has a few rodeo shows already booked (which he will be announcing more soon), one being the Pincher Creek Rodeo on August 19.

When not rocking the stage, Lorenzo can be found in the classroom as he is an elementary school teacher here in Airdrie. He is ready for the school year to wrap up to focus on his singing career.

"It feels like it went by really fast, it was a busy one, that's for sure. I'm really looking forward to the summer and just being able to focus on music and just play as much as I possibly can."

Last year during the Calgary Stampede, Lorenzo played around 20 shows in two weeks.
