On December 29, 2023, at approximately 2 a.m., Olds RCMP was alerted to a break-and-enter in progress at a local business.

Officers attended and surrounded the business, trapping the suspects.

The suspects attempted to flee the scene by jumping a fence, however, the officers were able to apprehend the suspects.

Edwin Maraya (54), a resident of Red Deer, and Rhomer Camelotes (45), a resident of Innisfail, have both been charged with the following:

  • Break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence
  • Disguised with intent to commit an offence
  • Possession of break-and-enter tools
  • Mischief under $500
  • Theft under $5000
  • Resist/obstruct a Peace Officer

Both males were released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Didsbury on February 12, 2024.
