The Airdrie Irish broke through with a win on a soggy home field yesterday (June 10) in the Alberta Football League.

The Irish dumped the Parkland Predators 29 - 8 at Ed Eggerer Athletic Park in Airdrie for their first win of the season after two losses on the road.

The tight defensive game wasn't pretty, featuring several fumbles of the wet ball and quite a number of penalties as well.

Jordan Groves and Darius Smith both saw action at quarterback for the Irish.

The team is back on the road for their next game, Saturday, June 17th against the Calgary Gators.
