RCMP and the Calgary Police Service (CPS) have launched a joint investigation following the discovery of human remains in Banff National Park.
On Tuesday, officers received information that sparked a survey of the area near a rest stop off the east-bound side of the Trans-Canada Highway, just east of Banff.
A search of the area uncovered human remains and RCMP says investigators have cleared the area.
An autopsy for the victim is scheduled for Thursday.
