Rocky View County (RVC) residents are encouraged to provide feedback on the proposed 2024 budget.

On Wednesday, November 15, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Rocky View County Hall, RVC residents will have a chance to speak to the council directly at an upcoming special council meeting.

According to RVC, they are working to ensure the 2024 budget is reflective of community needs and wishes as resident feedback is a valued and necessary part of the budget-making process.

For those not able to attend in person, written submissions can be shared before 4:30 p.m., November 7, by email to legislativeservices@rockyview.ca or by mail.

If you do plan on attending and sharing your thoughts, they do have a few rules that will need to be followed:

  • Presentations made at the special Council meeting on November 15, including pre-recorded videos or audio presentations, are limited to five minutes for individual speakers and 10 minutes for groups.
  • As part of your submission, you must provide your name, address or legal land description in addition to your comments on the 2024 operating and capital budget.

The special council meeting scheduled for November 22 will be used to discuss and approve the operating and capital budget for 2024.

Earlier this year in August, RVC allowed resident to create their own budgets using an allocator tool.

The 2023 Operating and Capital Budget included a three per cent tax increase, which is lower than the 6 per cent initially proposed in the base budget.
