Once again this year, the 1st Airdrie Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Vents are holding their 6th annual community Tree Cycling Project.

Rob Noble, a scouter for the group is super excited to host this event once again.

"We put together this program to go collect the Christmas trees, it's a free service that some people have been very kind to donate to us over the years, and it continues to help support our adventures. It's overall been a win-win for the group and for people that don't want to get their car full of pine needles."

Noble does ask that if people want them to pick up the trees - that the Christmas trees should be left outside with all the Christmas decorations taken off.

"The kids are out there working towards their top section badges, which are some type of recognition they can get from all the community service they provide."

For every tree they pick up, they get a donation of trees from the Water Valley Nursery. In the springtime, they do a community cleanup and plant the trees in various communities (of course with the permission of the city).

The scouts will be out and about on December 28, 30, and 31 and on January 4, 7 and 8.
