Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a frost advisory for Airdrie.

"Patchy frost is expected tonight as overnight temperatures fall to zero degrees Celsius. Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas."

Gardeners are reminded to take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.

Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.

The advisory is also in effect for Cochrane, Olds, and Sundre.
