An ugly win is still a win.

That's the attitude of the Calgary Flames coming off a 2-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers last night.

For the first 2 periods, it looked like the Oilers would walk out of the dome with a win, thanks to a Tom Gilbert first period goal. But late tallys by Jay Bouwmeester and Alex Tanguay put the Flames ahead. Head Coach Brent Sutter says he was happy with the effort in the third period.

Calgary Flame Jarome Iginla played in his 1,111 career game, which puts him into a tie with former Flame Lanny McDonald, and current Flame's head coach Brent Sutter for 145th all time.

The Flames host the New York Rangers Thursday at the Dome, game time 7:30.
