This Labour Day long weekend is the final long weekend of summer before school starts and it looks like Airdronians will be able to take advantage of it.

"Saturday and Sunday are looking like really lovely days, we have lots of sun in the forecast with highs in the mid to high 20s," stated Samantha Mauti, a Meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada.

The forecast for Saturday is 28 degrees as the high, while Sunday is slightly cooler sitting around 26 degrees.

Sadly once Sunday night and Monday roll around the temperature is forecasted to make a cold turn.

"We are seeing a low-pressure system start to develop in Alberta for the end of the weekend. Right now we have a 60 per cent chance of showers on Monday with cooler temperatures."

While for most of the weekend, we are above normal temperatures for around this time of year (which is 19 degrees), with the cold front moving in, the high for Monday is 13 degrees.

Mauti also stated we could see wildfire smoke on and off throughout the weekend.
