The Town of Didsbury is excited about a new Alberta Health Services (AHS) building that will provide mental health services.

According to AHS, construction on the Phase 3 new building for public and mental health at the Didsbury District Health Services is scheduled for completion in spring 2024, with services scheduled to move in this summer.

"The new 6,120 square foot facility will include AHS staff offices, two public health clinics, four therapy rooms, two larger group therapy rooms, and one shared clinic room for public and mental health.  It will also include a small day use kitchen for AHS to provide support programs for the community," stated AHS.

The project also involves substantial renovations and reorganization of various sections within the main Didsbury Health Services building, aimed at creating more functional spaces for EMS, rehabilitation, and homecare services.

All existing healthcare services remain available at the Didsbury District Health Services throughout the construction period.

"Detailed design has begun on the final phase 4 work, which includes renovations to the main building to accommodate the Homecare program, with construction expected to start this summer."

The entire project is scheduled for completion by the year's end. The approved funding of $8 million for this project was granted through the Government of Alberta’s Rural Revitalization program.
