Beiseker is the benefactor of a recent contribution from Rock View County.

County Council voted to donate one of their water tender trucks to the village, for use by the local fire department.

The surplus truck is part of ongoing co-operation between Beiseker and Rocky View County Fire Services.

Along with receiving the new truck, County Council also voted to sell a parcel of land to the village for just $1 after Beisker helped build a portion of a wastewater treatment lagoon on Rocky View County land.

Rocky View says that relocating the lagoon or having to purchase the land at full price would have been to expensive for Beiseker, with a population hovering around 800.

Because of the need, the County stepped up and struck the village a deal.

"Helping out Beiseker in these two ways is another example of the good neighbour approach the County takes in our dealings with other municipalities," said Margaret Bahcehli, County Councillor. "There's no limit to what we can accomplish when we work together in spirit of true co-operation and respect."

Beiseker is one of 13 municipalities that borders Rocky View, as the County also border 4 First Nations.
