The only ones standing in the way of Calgary Stampeder Jon Cornish amassing more yards rushing in a single season than any other Canadian are such legends as Normie Kwong and Gerry James.

Cornish vaulted past the 1000 yard point on Friday, September 28 when he ran in a 73 yard touchdown. The running back now needs only 311 yards to surpass Kwong and James on the all time leaderboard. He also won CFL Top Canadian of the Week honours for the sixth time this season last week. And added Canadian Player of the Month for September to his rapidly expanding list of accolades.

Cornish will have a chance to add to his total when the Stamps face the BC Lions on Saturday, October 6 in Vancouver.
