With snowfall expected to continue falling over the night and well into Wednesday, motorists are reminded that driving conditions may be hazardous. Airdrie city roads have been reported to be partly covered in snow with icy sections.

On Tuesday afternoon, road conditions heading southbound on the QEII towards Calgary City limits were reported to be partly covered in ice, with blowing snow and icy sections. North of Airdrie, towards Carstairs and Crossfield, similar conditions were reported. Visibility conditions however are fair.

Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, a multi-vehicle collision north of Airdrie had snarled traffic for kilometres. The collision has since been cleared.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has forecasted that anywhere from two to four centimetres will fall Tuesday evening, with up to 12 centimetres expected Wednesday throughout the day.
