Roy is described as Caucasian, 170 cm tall, 68 kg, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Cochrane RCMP Sgt. Jeff Campbell says she was last seen by Alberta Conservation Officers in the area.

"Alberta Conservation Officers spoke with Karen, she was at the campground, she was making inquiries of camping there and she had two dogs with her. RCMP are asking anyone who may have seen Roy between 10pm Wednesday, June 1, to 10am Thursday, June 2, to contact them.

"Little elbow campground has extensive hiking trails in the area, other hikers have not seen her in the area."

"She was not set for hiking or camping, there was no gear in the car, at this point we are unsure about her purposes of being down there are."

Roy also left behind her cell phone and many personal items.

The RCMP are continuing the search.
