The Cochrane Tradeshow will celebrate its 38th year, April 30 and May 1.

140 booths will be on display showcasing various businesses, services, and service groups from in and around the Cochrane area. The tradeshow provides community members a great opportunity to learn about services and products, while offering an opportunity to meet the people behind the business or service.

Bill Popplewell, President of the Cochrane and District Chamber Of Commerce says, the 2016 Tradeshow has been a hit with businesses.

“It’s the first year we’ve ever been sold out of all our booths a month before the tradeshow,” he says. “Usually we’re spending a lot of time trying to get that to work, so we’re really excited.”

Popplewell includes the 2016 Tradeshow will not only have something for mom and dad, but kids too.

“We’ve got some ventriloquist clowns, we have a petting zoo on Sunday afternoon and we have face painting on both Saturday and Sunday”

There will also be a silent auction held on both days, with all proceeds staying local.

“Proceeds from those go back into the community, with scholarships for each of our Cochrane high schools, there’s three different scholarships there. We also put a number of dollars during the year back into the Cochrane food bank.”

This year the tradeshow has a free shuttlebus running as well, thanks to volunteers from Southland Transportation. With parking being limited at the sport complex due to construction, the free shuttle running from the old Canadian Tire site 11 am to 4 pm both days will help with parking woes.

The Tradeshow is on April 30, 10 am -5 pm, and Sunday May 1, 10 am - 4pm, with a $2 admission for those 13 and up.
