A motorcycle fundraiser in Cochrane Saturday attracted veterans and their supporters from all over the province. The Rolling Thunder 2011 Cochrane Poker Rally in aid of the Wounded Warrior project, helps raise awareness about the extreme hardships faced by members of Canada's military upon their return from service. Betty Anne Jansen talks about a project that gives much-needed help to war veterans and their families suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Veteran rider Brian Walford says being part of the event is his way of honouring those who served and didn't make it home.

 

Participants rode from Cochrane to Water Valley and Canmore, passing through the Stoney Nakoda Nation, Saturday. The day's festivities included draw prizes, music, a dinner and dance, along with other entertainment. Visit www.woundedwarriors.ca to learn more.
