Destination Cycle's annual toy drive was once again a success.

This year, they donated 930 toys to Alberta's Children's Hospital to help those kids and families navigate a hard time.

Josh Radu, the General Manager at Destination Cycles is very proud of how successful the toy drive was this year.

"We had a good donation amount this year, this was our second-best year with 930 toys. Usually, we get 500-800 toys."

Last year, they donated around 3000 toys, but that was thanks to around 2500 Hot Wheels that were donated by Airdronian Daniel Olson.

Once again this year, Olson made another donation of around 460 assorted toys, which included more Hot Wheels.

"Even if we only donated 100 toys it would still have been a successful year for us."

Giving back to the hospital is a special thing for Radu as he has had his own experience at the hospital with his kids as many Airdronians have.

"My middle child had a heart condition, so, when he was only three months old, we had to spend about a week in the children's hospital time and there was a family there that bought pizza for the whole floor and that's kind of why we started doing this."

Radu wants to thank everyone who helped with this year's fundraiser, as it's thanks to them that it was a huge success.

"It's nice to be able to help out and give them donations when they need it."

The annual event will make a return with Destination Cycles next year for their seventh year.
