The CFR Chemical Bisons are looking to win back to back Alberta Midget Hockey League (AMHL) Championship after officially stepping back on the ice last week.

Kicking off their regular season with consecutive wins on home ice, the Bisons are hoping to improve to a perfect 4-0 after this weekend's road trip.

The Bisons opened their season with a 2-1 victory over the Calgary Royals with goals from Three Hills native and Airdrie Xtreme alumni Brett Trentham, and Cochrane's Kyle Gordon.

Following a win on opening day where they honoured their fallen teammate Markus Lavallee by retiring his number 17, the Bisons came out guns on fire against the SEAC Tigers on Sunday.

Gordon would score a hat trick and Okotoks native Tanner Foster would add two assists in a 6-2 victory over Medicine Hat.

Looking to keep their momentum heading into Thanksgiving weekend, the Bisons hit the road Saturday and Sunday to take on the Lloydminster Bobcats before a meeting the CAC Gregg Distributors - a rematch of last year's AMHL Final.
