With the recall of beef products expanding daily and the number of cases of E. coli growing, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has temporarily suspended XL Foods' license to operate the Lakeside facility in Brooks.

The beef recall has now been extended to stores in 30 States in the US, including Walmart.

Health officials are currently investigating eight cases of E. coli in Alberta, all or some of which may be linked to XL Foods.

The most recent recall, issued September 27, includes beef products sold under the Reddi Food Solutions and Freson Bros brands. Visit the CFIA's website for information about all the brands involved in this rapidly expanding recall.

The company will not be allowed to resume operations until they have demonstrated they have fully complied with the CFIA's requirements.
