Team Central with seven players from the Airdrie Xtreme in their potent lineup, has advanced to the Championship Final this afternoon (April 29) at the Alberta Cup Hockey Tournament in Spruce Grove.

Central blasted Calgary South 8 - 0 yesterday in one semi-final.  They'll take on Edmonton Yellow who beat Edmonton Blue 7 - 4 in the other semi.

The Xtreme had a huge hand in yesterday's win with Brett Moravec scoring a pair of goals and adding two assists while Ty Mueller also scored twice.

Tristan Zandee scored once and added an assist.  Craig Armstrong had three assists while Keagan Slaney added two.

Today's matchup with Edmonton Yellow will be a tough test for Team Central.  The Edmonton squad have gone through the tourney undefeated, including beating Central 8 - 3 during the round robin.

The game gets underway at 1:45 pm.

Slaney was named to the tournament all-star team for his play on defense.
