It might not be the gold medal he and his teammates were dreaming of, but for Airdrie's Ayden Makarus and the Alberta baseball team, bronze will do just fine.

Alberta scored two runs in the third inning and added three more in the sixth en route to a 5 - 1 win over Team Ontario and a bronze medal ceremony at the Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg.

16 year old Makarus had a strong game for the Albertans, going one for three at the plate and driving in a run.

Alberta went through the round robin with a five and one record before losing a heartbreaking 1 - 0 game to Manitoba in the semi final.

In the gold medal game yesterday, Saskatchewan got by Manitoba by a 3 - 1 score.
