For any Airdronians who commute to and from Airdrie, the City of Calgary has announced the May photo enforcement locations.

According to the city, in response to community needs identified through statistical analysis, collisions, and citizen concerns, mobile photo radar will be set up on Crowchild Trail, Glenmore Trail, Deerfoot Trail, Macleod Trail and Sarcee Trail.

Throughout May, photo radar enforcement will target the neighbourhoods of Beddington Heights, Citadel, Copperfield, Cranston, Glendale/Killarney/Glengarry, Hillhurst, Highwood, Huntington Hills, McKenzie Lake, Mount Pleasant, Pump Hill, Sandstone, Shaganappi, Sunridge Business Park, Vista Heights, Wildwood, and Windsor Park.

In addition to photo radar, the city features 57 Intersection Safety Camera (ISC) locations. These cameras capture vehicles entering intersections during all signal phases, including instances of red light infractions.

"These cameras continue to reduce collisions and foster a safer driving environment at our intersections," stated the city.

The "Speed on Green" initiative utilizes up to 54 of these ISC locations to capture vehicles that exceed speed limits while passing through green and yellow lights. Fines for speeding vary based on the extent of the violation. Exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/hr requires an appearance before a judge.

The city also mentioned these drivers not only put themselves in danger, but they also endanger the lives of others.
