Airdrie is home to a growing archery community.

OC Archery hosts events frequently, and aims to introduce newcomers to the sport.

"We've had kids as young as 3 years old shooting bows and all the way up to my grandfather who is just over 80 years old now, so if I can shoot absolutely anyone can shoot" said Dane Bruce of OC Archery.

Every Thursday night at 7pm, they host what is known as 3D night, which pits archers against one another in an open competive format. Anyone can participate.

Both children and adults alike can take in the sport, as OC offers a "Discover Archery" package ($20 for kids, $25 for adults).

Alberta has a fairly well established archery community, with the Central Alberta Archers Association (CAAA) forming in 1999.
