Strong wind gusts have produced blowing snow on the QEII both Northbound and Southbound around Airdrie.

Motorists are asked to exercise caution as visibility may be reduced in many areas.

Snowfall will continue until late this afternoon and there may be up to two centimetres of accumulation. The wind will be lightening up near noon, although evening temperatures are expected to be frigid in the windchill.

The QEII heading towards Calgary City limits is reported to be partly covered in snow with icy sections and icy wheel paths. Heading Northbound, past Crossfield and Carstairs, similar conditions have been reported. However, further North, past Lacombe, road conditions are slightly worse as strong winds have covered the roads in snow, reducing visibility due to drifting snow.
