Golfers of different ages and skill sets were at the Woodside Golf Course last weekend for the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce Golf Event.

Events Manager with the Chamber Ashley Frame says it was another successful tournament.

“It was the 17th Annual Chamber Golf Classic this past year. We had 116 golfers out. Feedback from all the golfers thus far is that it was a great day and everybody had fun out on the course.”

Several different companies within the Chamber came together for the biggest event on their calendar but it wasn’t just the Chamber members that benefited.

“Every year we partner with a local charity or non-profit group here in Airdrie,” says Frame, “This year the golf committee actually decided to give a portion of our proceeds to Community Links to acknowledge and help support the great work their organization does for our community.”

Right now the Chamber doesn’t have a final number for what was donated to Community Links but was thrilled to support them.

With the Chamber growing year by year in Airdrie and in the outlying communities, Frame says an event like this really helps the members connect.

“It’s a little bit different when you’re trying to connect that way. I find it’s a lot easier for people especially new to the Chamber and new to Airdrie to be able to communicate and network with people in that type of environment where the pressure is a little bit off for them.”

Frame says that the Chamber has already set a date for next year’s Golf event.
