Looking for a fun and impactful way to spend your Saturday? On June 8th, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Apple Creek Golf Course and Arcade is hosting Airdrie's Top Shot Challenge. The event benefits the Airdrie Food Bank, promising a day filled with friendly competition, great deals, and community spirit.
Participants can register by calling the Apple Creek Pro Shop at 403-912-2191, ext. 0. Registration slots are available in 15-minute intervals starting at 10:00 a.m. and the entry fee is just $10, or $5 with a small food item or a bag of food donation to support the Airdrie Food Bank.
Tyrell Babkirk the Director and Golf Head Professional at Apple Creek Golf explains how the contest will work.
"The Top Shot Challenge features six targets for participants to aim at, with categories for men, women, and juniors. Each participant will take two shots at each target, and the person with the most points will be crowned Airdrie's Top Shot."
The driving range will be transformed into a vibrant party, creating a wonderful community event for all ages. Babkirk wants to see everyone come out as the challenge is perfect for seasoned and non-seasoned golfers alike.
"Whether you're a seasoned golfer or a newcomer to the sport, this challenge is designed for everyone to enjoy."
There are membership prizes to be won for the competing participants at the event as well.
In addition to the competition, there will be a massive shoe sale with huge discounts, demo clubs from top industry brands, and racks of clothing on sale. Music will keep the atmosphere lively, and you can enjoy refreshments from Sea Change Brewery, on location from noon until 4:00 PM. Plus, the weather forecast predicts beautiful conditions—perfect for a day outdoors.
This event is not just for golfers; it's for anyone who wants to support a worthy cause and have a great time. Even if you don't golf, head down and enjoy the festivities and cheer on the participants.
