A moving and important event took place along Veteran's Blvd on October 29. The Kosovo Chapter of the Canadian Army Veterans Motorcycle Unit, along with RCMP, Alberta Sheriffs, city council and Airdrie Emergency Services rode from the Legion to Veteran's Blvd where they placed crosses in honour of Airdrie's fallen soldiers. The Field of Honour was approved by City Council back on September 6.

Norm McRae, secretary / treasurer of the Kosovo Chapter, says this is just one of the things the Legion will be doing to help recognize and help all veterans, not just those that saw active service during one of the World Wars. He was extremely thrilled by the number of people who showed up for the ceremony:

Mayor Peter Brown rode in the procession, and MP Blake Richards and members of Airdrie's City Council were also on hand. The Colour Guard from the Airdrie Legion and a number of other veterans were in attendance. This will become an annual event held each year before Remembrance Day.
