Airdrie RCMP is investigating a stabbing that occurred at CrossIron Mills Mall earlier on Friday evening, which sent three people to the hospital.

According to police, Mounties responded at 6:50 p.m. to the mall after a complaint of multiple stabbings.

"Upon arrival, Airdrie RCMP secured the scene and assisted the three victims, who had varying levels of injuries. All three victims were transported to the hospital and are now in stable condition," police stated in a release on Friday evening.

The investigation has revealed that multiple suspects fled the scene in a 2021 or newer white Toyota Highlander with partial Alberta license plate CK_3513 and late on Friday evening Mounties said that they had located the vehicle.

"...Suspects were arrested and are currently in custody, pending charges. Airdrie RCMP would like to thank members of the public, as well as the media, for their help and cooperation.

Though the investigation is still ongoing, preliminary findings suggest that this was a targeted isolated incident and police do not believe there is any concern for public safety.

On Saturday afternoon, police reiterated their request for the public's help, stating that several suspects had yet to be identified.

"The investigation is ongoing. Airdrie RCMP is asking anyone who witnessed the event or who may have footage to please submit it to Airdrie RCMP in order to help with the investigation."
