The Canada Games in Winnipeg are through their first weekend, a weekend that went reasonably well for the Alberta baseball team with 16 year old Ayden Makarus of Airdrie in the lineup.

Alberta improved their record to 2 and 1 yesterday (July 30), with a 6 - 2 win over Quebec.

On Saturday, Alberta scored a 12 - 2 win over B.C. in their opening game, then followed it up with a tough 3 - 2 loss in extra innings to Team Saskatchewan.

This morning at 9:00 am, Alberta will take on B.C. for the second time.

The Canada Games continue until August 13th.  Three other Airdrie athletes are taking part in the games and all of them will be in action during week two.
