A 29-year-old resident of Nanaimo, British Columbia, has been charged by Airdrie Mounties in relation to a child luring investigation.

Airdrie Mounties said the investigation began on June 12 with a report of a youth being sexually assaulted.

The investigation, which was conducted by Airdrie RCMP and Airdrie General Investigation Section, determined the youth had been lured on social media prior to the assault.

Callum Tanner Stewart has been charged with Child Luring, Sexual Assault, as well as a failure to comply with a release order.

Stewart is currently before the courts in B.C. for possession and distribution of child pornography and was brought before a Justice of the Peace where he has been remanded into custody.

He will appear at the Calgary Provincial Court of Justice on Monday, June 24.
