Today, Airdrie Meals on Wheels received a donation thanks to Propak in Airdrie.

A cheque was presented to the organization for $6,490. Airdrie Meals on Wheels provides nutritious meals to Airdronians who are having trouble preparing such meals for themselves. The funds were raised from Propak's Christmas Party.

Lois Jones, Media & Public Relations for Airdrie Meals On Wheels explained these funds are something they truly needed.

"With donations at an all-time need with demand growing, we're elated with this donation."

These funds will go directly to the food budget so they can keep the meals affordable for their patrons. According to Jones, the cold snap in January has increased the number of people who use their services.

"Right now, we're up more than double what we were last year."

Jim Hansen, the Managing Director of Technical Sales for Propak, talked about why they have been making donations to Airdrie Meals on Wheels since 2013.

"They are an integral part of the health of our community. We know the good work that the organization does to support the seniors and different people throughout the community."

Since 2013, Propak has donated a total of $47,390.
